The Rockport Prowalker is part of the Rockport World Tour Classic that has become the standard for walking comfort. Constructed with the Rockport patented Walk Platform, it provides a wide base of support for the heel and a flexible forefoot to aid in the walking motion. The removable footbed is made of rubberized EVA cushioning that is durable. It also features a solid rubber outsole that grips a variety of surfaces, a lightweight fiberlon shank that provides midfoot support, and a full grain leather upper that is easy to clean.

Prowalker quality downgrade
I have been buying a pair of white Rockport Prowalkers for ten or twelve years and have remained loyal to the brand because of the excellent wear they gave me and their superb comfort. Something has changed recently in this series of shoes. The leather is much stiffer and the shoes are just not as comfortable. They still give good arch support and the assembly quality seems okay, but only time will tell how they hold up to daily use. I hope Rockport returns to their high standards of manufacturing in the future. I'll probably look for something else when it's time to replace these. The color white is more like an ivory color now. Before they were pure white.
Rockport ProWalker
The service for this was fine. No complaints. However, the shoe itself is another thing. First, I chose white. When it arrived, it was an off-white. My husband was willing to live with that. But then, after wearing the shoes a couple of times, he said they were extremely uncomfortable. We have purchased Rockport ProWalkers in the past & loved them. This was quite a disappointment.
Accept No Substitute
About 10 years ago my feet started to complain due to irritated nerves (people with diabetes understand); orthotics helped; sneakers helped too but I needed dressier shoes too. These shoes, in black, did the trick. I've tried many others, with some success, but these shoes win the prize. I buy 3 pairs at a time and rotate them - the older pairs for casual/rough wear and the newest pair goes into the courtroom (lawyers are people too, mostly). If I ever hear they are being discontinued, I may rent storage space so I can buy out the stock in my size. I own 1 pair of dressy shoes that I can wear 2 or 3 hours; but for 15 hour days, there is no substitute. Like white shirts, these shoes simplify shopping and wardrobe selection.
