regular width is actually a Wide. All Birkenstocks have an outlined footprint indicating wide or filled in footprint indicating narrow or half/half. I wear a 9 usually & in Birks that means a size 40 for closed toe styles & size 39 in open toed styles, but always regular width!

Teenage girls may notice "Bella" wearing them in the New Moon movie. There's no arch support but they are light.

dressier boots

Cute heels are possible. If you are going to wear shoes like this I think it is absolutely necessary to get 2e or more if you can find it. This much pressure on the front of your foot means you need the extra width.

A dressy mule that looks like a moccasin. There is not so much support w/ this one (look at the sole)but it is sleek and dressy.

another cute option from New Balance for running. I try to have at least two real athletic shoe like this. Just having these convinces me to exercise. These are the motion control version.

Saucony sneakers are not listed as wide; this company just has a different version of what regular width should be. Wide! I wouldn't suggest this for anyone who really needs the extra wides; but this is a cute fashion sneaker. I like the courageous shoe from this brand also & it is more stable & more substantial then the Jazz.

this particular style from this company runs a little wide. The other "shoe" styles from Pastry like the cake runners are not wide. The "cookie" mid or high tops run wide as well. This is another fashion sneaker.

the real leather birkenstock will last forever. Leather is better then suede because the suede collapses;inconvenient to slip on/off. Leather is softer and longer lasting then birkoflor(knockoff leather)or birkibuc.

the shetland has a back strap that can be rotated around to the front and snapped down into place like a clog

this is birko flor not leather. it is interesting because you can interchange the center strap for a flower or square toe pull. It is a very pretty shoe on your feet.

If you have wide feet & you really like preppy styles then I would recommend you take a look at all of the styles this company makes. I think this one is cute in the nautical navy/red

a men's wear style. I am certain that the reason these are trendy right now is because there is a girl out there that stole her man's shoes to be comfortable & for the width. The problem w wearing men's shoes is they are always too flat to support the woman's foot & the look.
